I'm a 44-year-old African-american male and lifelong Illinois resident. Divorced parent of one teen-aged son. I'm an adivd sports fan and a writer of novels for young adults. I have recently self-published a title called "Baby Eagle" that deals with issues of parental betrayal, misogynistic attitudes African-American boys have against African-American girls, and gun violence and death.

Personal Statement
My life changed drastically the day that 13-year-old Schanna Danielle Gayden was tragically murdered June 25, 2007, when she got caught in the crossfire of rival gangs shooting at each other. I have now become resensitized to the gun-violence that I previously had been desensitized to. I have dedicated my novel, "Baby Eagle to Schanna's memory.My Websites:
